VTX Communications (VTXC) was founded in 1992 as the deregulated affiliate of Valley Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (VTCI). Initially, VTXC began selling transport with optical interconnects in Harlingen and Laredo. From these beginnings, a network was built that enables VTXC to provide an array of services. Currently VTXC has established Points of Presence (POP’s) in San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Laredo, Harlingen, and Hidalgo. VTXC also has established interconnections with over thirty telecommunications companies, including several international providers at the international boundary in Laredo, Texas.
